Your privacy is important to University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and MedNews Plus, LLC ("MedNews") MedNews, through its affiliation with @Point of Care, provides articles that are eligible for CME/CE credits ("Content") to University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences to provide to you. That information is provided to you through the MedNews website, even though it is framed with University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences's logo. This Privacy Policy will tell you what information we collect about you and about your use of MedNews Plus.
Information Collection and Use
Information Collection. In order to obtain CME/CE credits through our Website, you must register. During registration you will be asked to provide certain required and optional contact information, demographic information and unique identifiers. We also collect non-personal information from you about your use of the MedNews website and email system. Other than the information you provide at sign up, which you may update from time to time, MedNews receives no information about you from University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
Information Use. The following are other ways that we use information about you that we have collected. Except as specifically mentioned in this Privacy Policy, we will not provide your name, address, email address, or other personally identifiable information to any third party, other than University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, and the CME accreditation sponsors, the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, Office of Continuing Medical Education, and Projects in Knowledge, without your prior consent.

Under MedNews agreement, both University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and MedNews have access to and ownership rights for all user information on the website that is either branded or co-branded with University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Additionally, University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is provided information about aggregate usage of the website. Users cannot opt-out of having their information provided to University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences has agreed to honor the applicable terms of this privacy statement with regard to all information collected through the website; however, this privacy statement does not cover information that you have directly provided University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

We also use aggregate data for market analysis. We may provide information from our website in aggregate form, with personal identifying information removed, to our Marketing Department. For example, we may inform Hospital Administration what percentage of our users resides in a particular geographical area. Depending on our agreement with the third parties, we may or may not charge our partners for this information.
CME/CE Accreditation Sponsor. Participants in the CME program on this Website must agree to permit their personally identifying information to be disclosed to our CME accreditors, the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, Office of Continuing Medical Education and Projects in Knowledge, to ensure that participants receive proper CME credit. If you do not wish your personally identifying information so disclosed, then you must not participate in the CME/CE Program, and by choosing to participate in the CME/CE program you are thereby agreeing to the disclosure of your personally identifying information for the purposes outlined herein and on the CME/CE page of this website.
Third Parties. In addition to sharing aggregate data (discussed previously), we may share some kinds of information with third parties as described below.
Profile
We store information that we collect through log files and/or third parties to create a profile of our users. A profile is stored information that we keep on individual users that details their viewing preferences. Consequently, collected information is tied to the users' personally identifiable information to provide offers and improve the content of our Website for users. Communications from our Website
Confirmation. We send all new users a welcome email to verify passwords and usernames, as well as to confirm the information that the user has chosen to receive.

Deactivating Personal Information
Upon your written request, we will deactivate your account and remove your personally identifiable information from our active database, but we can maintain your personally identifiable information in our records to be used for purposes such as verification of CME or CE credits (for CME or CE program participants), fraud protection and to resolve disputes. If we change our privacy policy, we will post those changes to this privacy statement, the homepage, and other places we deem appropriate, so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.

Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner.
